The rebel is an individual who resists authority or control.Most likely when you think of the rebel you think of a teenager but that's not exactly what a rebel should be associated with. There are two different kinds of rebels the rebel who rebels for something he/she thinks is better like the way Prometheus rebelled. The other kind of rebel is the one who rebels for a bad cause such as Lucifer.The rebel is a character you can use over and over again because they can be the antagonist in a novel or a film. In film in mostly every movie there is a rebel like in The Breakfast Club John bender is a rebel because he has something to rebel for his father is every abusive towards him and everybody thinks his a loser.John is in detention for pulling the fire alarm. John loves to define the principle of the school at one point in the film.He continuously gets detention by his smart ass comments. The next film that represented a rebel very well was both characters in Girl,Intterupted Lisa Rowe and Susanna Kaysen. Susanna is in a mental hospital for trying to kill herself.Once she gets to the hospital she starts to rebel against the head nurse and then she meets Lisa. There is a scene in the movie that is perfect for a rebel archetype it is when Susanna and Lisa try to calm there friend down who had just had a breakdown about her face they call her torch because she set herself on fire she use to be very beautiful. Lisa takes the keys from one of the night nurses and opens the music room closet and takes a guitar and Susanna begins to plays Downtown to try and clam Torch down and it works but Susanna gets written up and Lisa get taken a way. So the rebel is in all of us it's just waiting for us to break. The rebel is used over and over again in movies and novels because the rebel is an easy archetype to create promblems and keep everything moving within a story. Zeus assigned Prometheus the task of forming man from water and earth, which Prometheus did, but in the process, became fonder of men than Zeus had anticipated. Zeus didn't share Prometheus' feelings and wanted to prevent men from having power, especially over fire. Prometheus cared more for man than for the wrath of the increasingly powerful and autocratic king of the gods, so he stole fire from Zeus' lightning, concealed it in a hollow stalk of fennel, and brought it to man. Prometheus also stole skills from Hephaestus and Athena to give to man. The next stage in Prometheus' career as benefactor of mankind came when Zeus and he were developing the ceremonial forms for animal sacrifice. The astute Prometheus devised a sure-fire way to help man. He divided the slaughtered animal parts into two packets. In one was the ox-meat and innards wrapped up in the stomach lining. In the other packet were the ox-bones wrapped up in its own rich fat. One would go to the gods and the other to the humans making the sacrifice. Prometheus presented Zeus with a choice between the two, and Zeus took the deceptively richer appearing: the fat-encased, but inedible bones. Zeus reacted to these tricks by presenting man with a "gift," Pandora, the first woman. While Prometheus may have crafted man, woman was a different sort of creature.She came from the forge of Hephaestus, beautiful as a goddess and beguiling. Zeus presented her as a bride to Prometheus' brother Epimetheus. Prometheus had the gift of thinking ahead, but Epimetheus was only capable of afterthought, so Prometheus, expecting retribution for his audacity, had warned his brother against accepting gifts from Zeus. Zeus gave the gods-crafted Pandora as bride to Epimetheus, along with a box that they were instructed to keep closed. Epimetheus was dazzled by Pandora and forgot the advice of his prescient brother. Unfortunately, one day while her husband Epimetheus was away, Pandora opened the box Zeus had given them along with the warning never to open it. When she opened it, Pandora unleashed all the evils now known to man. No longer could man loll about all day, but he would have to work and would succumb to illnesses. Prometheus was still not awed by the might of Zeus and continued to defy him, refusing to warn him of the dangers of the nymph Thetis (future mother of Achilles). Zeus had tried punishing Prometheus through his loved ones, but this time he decided to punish him more directly. He bade Hermes chain Prometheus to Mount Caucasus where an eagle/vulture ate his ever-regenerating liver each day.
God created Lucifer, now known as Satan, as one of the three top angels in Heaven. Lucifer had responsibility for the angels assigned to worship, while Michael leads the warrior angels who oppose evil and unrighteousness, and Gabriel guides the angels assigned to bring God's messages to people. As part of his creation, God gave angels a certain amount of free will. They didn't get as much freedom as the humans God created, but they got some. He led his angels in worshiping God, Lucifer decided some of that worship should be coming his way. As he saw it, he was as good as God and deserved equal honor. In fact, he decided, he should be God. That decision cost Lucifer everything.The Garden of Eden, paradise on earth and God's gift to Adam and Eve. The Garden included every possible delight-without the need for hard work to maintain it. And God walked with Adam and Eve each evening. Adam and Eve had only one restriction: They couldn't eat the fruit from a single tree in the middle of the Garden. Since they were surrounded by miles and miles of trees and plants bearing every imaginable delicacy, it wasn't a burdensome limitation.One day, as Adam and Eve eyed the forbidden tree with interest, Lucifer, showed up. Eternally angry at his loss of position-for no good reason, as far as he could see-Satan embarked on his lifetime quest: Turning people against God. Appearing as a beautiful angel of light, Lucifer engaged Eve in a conversation. He persuaded her that eating the forbidden fruit would be a good thing. It would, Lucifer purred, give her all knowledge and make her like God. How could it possibly be wrong to be as wonderful and as wise as God? Lucifer neglected to mention the fearsome price he'd paid for that idea.Convinced, Eve bit into the fruit, then told Adam to eat it, too.
